Is this a forum for people with the large real arcade machines, or is it also for mamers? I've read alot of the back pages of posts and most talk about buying, selling, owning and fixing the cabinet uprights.

You'll probably find that a lot of people here own a MAME, but more have the original games...in large quantities!

Ok, now for the Ultimate in idiot questions ready? Do Public arcades really exist anymore, and and if they do, why can't i find one? I'm so effing jonesing man. LoL

...but many of us are 'dirty swine' and own a mame as well...

Welcome to the forum. Just lurk a little, and you'll see how the dedicated/mamed thing works amongst members. Certain rarer classics should not be mamed, is the rule of thumb. And if you decided to mame something, mame it so it can always be returned to a classic. Don't drill crazy holes, mess with the wiring harness, etc.

Where are you located? There's still a handful but many are few and far between now. If you let us know where you're located we can help you find one (if there is one) near you.

They do. In the living rooms of many of the folks of this very forum. :D Other than that, not really.

You guys are gonna laugh. I'm in Western Maine 6 miles from NH border, but it's easy for me to get to Old Orchard beach where the only known functioning arcade I know of is still there.

Funspot is probably only an hour away from you. Over 500 games!

I used to live in NH and would go camping at Old Orchard beach when I was younger!!! I played Robotron at that arcade on the beach all the time!

I worked at Dream Machine in '86-'87. Worked some summer days at Old Orchard and Salisbury Beach Dream Machine's. Spent most of my time at the Lilac mall DM. Best job I ever had.:D

Funspot is in Weirs Beach NH.

Remember that jackass we had for a boss? Dennis was his first name. Tall skinny guy also worked at Happy wheels in Scarborough. Arrogant prick he was, seemed to be always hanging around with the under-age girls, remember him?

LOL. He was the regional guy right? My store boss was Diane. Dennis would show up every month or so if I remember right. I had to help him load up games a few times.

Yeah for a little while, He wound being planted at the South Portland store where I worked, and the regional guy's name was Mike, a larger guy with a mustache. He was cool. I worked DM '87-89 a little after you.
