Question on how to get the 3P and 4P working on Captain America

So this is my first go round with getting 3P and 4P on a 4 player game. I've bought the correct harnesses for the captain America 3 and 4 players, however, it won't let me start the game. Now I do know that they are tied to their own coin switch, and that dip switch 5 and 6 of sw2 must be on the on position. My question is, for 1st and 2nd player, the start button is the same as button 1....but for 3 and 4 player, the harnesses don't specifically have a start button wire. Anyhow, I've tried grounding the coin up wire, but won't let me start a game using the 3 or 4 player, and I want to say I hear the coin up sound, but the credits remain at 0. Lastly, is this board capable of running 3P and 4P without a eprom swap....similar to the Konami boards?

Thanks

I know that the game doesn't have start buttons to select a player, I believe you just press on of the action buttons.
And you don't have to rom swap just the dip switches on set 2 that you mentioned.
I don't remember whether or not the board had a service screen to test whether or not you can see if the 3P or 4P are getting a good ground like Konami boards.

Thanks man...good to know. I don't think a test menu exists for this game...am I wrong?
