Question of putting "non-working" in ebay titles

Splitting this discussion off.

Thanks for clearing that up... however, there is absolutely nothing wrong with not putting "NON-WORKING" in the title...

What's right or wrong is an ethical decision. Someone claimed in the other thread there may be technical limitations to how long the title can be, which I can understand, but when your reputation as a seller is concerned, what does it mean if you do not put "non-working" in your titles?

This sounds like a thinly veiled attempt to shift the blame elsewhere when you already admitted that the mistake was your own (which it clearly was). The information was there, you couldn't be bothered to read it. End of story. Tell me, was this the first eBay acution you ever bid on?

Dude, let it go! Be happy you got refund. I bought dead game boards before due to a rush to get a game I wanted badly and never read the auction all the way. I can't bitch at the seller for my studiness in rushing a transaction. I fixed them, but I paid a nice price for them as dead at working price. I paid and left + feedback since I got doa boards as advertised. I did not even think about asking for a refund.. that would made me an ass to do so. Just my opion that is all.

It's OK

It's perfectly fine to not put 'non-working' in the title of an ebay auction, as long as it's clearly stated in the description. Auction titles are SHORT, and I'd rather have sellers give me what the things IS in the title, rather than it's condition. If there's room, it wouldn't hurt to have that in the title, but it doesn't make me think any less of a seller if it's only in the text.

Dude, you messed up. This is just making it worse. I know what you did was innocent. Anyone could have easily did it. Just move on.

Please explain to us how your voiding an auction due to your own failure to read what was clearly in the auction bolded is a reflection on Dale's ethics or integrity. I can't wait to hear this one.

more than one issue

As a few people mentioned in the other thread, there are multiple issues:

1) non-working in the title and your inability (you used the term laziness) to read the body

2) threatening/whatever to leave a negative post/thread in klov if he didn't refund your money.

You're now trying to concentrate the discussion on #1 - where most on here are (I believe) concerned with #2.

I think you have just been added to lots of peoples "do not do business with list"

Its one thing to not read what you are buying, its another to then complain about it.
The title is for what the item IS
The description DESCRIBES it.

If you saw a MsPacMan for sale, would you also not read the description?? it could be painted black, be not working, be in another cab.
Would you just assume it was Mint?

I really think you should give RLEVIN the money back, in fact you NEED to. You bought it!
Just man up and learn from what happens when you don't bother to even read the first line of a description.
Up for sale is a Sky Shark PCB. . This board are tested and non-working

You can then sell the board as non working and list it however you want.

Holy shit... I've really tried to steer you in the right direction but man, you keep going the wrong way.

You screwed up... shit happens. Let it go. You're digging yourself deeper and deeper every time you bring the whole "NON-WORKING WASN'T IN THE TITLE" crap. Do a search on EBAY... how many titles include NON-WORKING? How many don't?

Lets go see...

A "title only" search of "ARCADE PCB NON-WORKING" brings up ZERO auctions... and 14 "dealer" listings.... and only 1 of the 14 had NON-WORKING in the title...the rest had 100% working in the title!!!

Now lets see what happens when I include the DESCRIPTION as well in my search...

201 auctions show up... amazing, huh?

Learn how to use ebay instead of bitching about a non-issue...
