Question I wanted to ask and see what others thought! Games in your collection.......

For those that collect and sell games. Are all your games "quote un quote" for sale if the price is right?
I asked this question because I have a lot of people that ask me if certain games in my personal collection are for sale. Even though I say "yes" anything is for sale if the price is right, I still dont know if I will sell certain ones due to the condition of the game or what it took to get it no matter what the price (I think).

Almost anything that's a material good has a price tag. ;)

I probably couldn't get what I wanted out of any of my projects...

EVERYTHING is for sale. I guarantee you there is nothing you wouldn't sell if someone flashed enough green in your face. You can buy people with enough dough.

Thats what I thought but there where 2 times someone offered me a very good amount of money for games and I turned it down even though it was double or more of what the game was worth. I thought about it hard and was thinking that I won't find this machine in this condition again and I travel pretty far away to get it. I'm I just stupid or what?

No, you're not stupid. The offer wasn't more than it is worth to YOU. Not market value. When I say everything is for sale, I mean REAL money. If someone flashed ten grand (or insert number here) for your unnamed machine, would that change your mind? I have machines I wouldn't sell for more than they are probably worth. Those are my KEEPERS:D. They have a certain value to me that may or may not seem logical to someone else. Just gotta follow your heart, you'll be happier that way. It's a different story if you need money to support your family or something though. Then you gotta do what you gotta do. My two cents.

Yes that sound about right. Thousands to talk a whole lot louder than hundreds to me. Some of my games I dont want to get rid of but I have to due to space. Its hard giving up a nice looking game or one that you did such a good job on restoring it, but I guess you can keep them all even though I been trying. Thanks for the replies!

Ridiculous amount of money > Any game I own

I would sell any game I own if the price is right.

You should just open up a killer bar Darryl. There is nothing in fredb but funland games wise and the games are crap. That way you get to keep a lot more of them. You need to get some good food going on too with some other cool things dancing maybe? I think it would work.... It would be the best spot in the burg to go out on the town... Break out the dj equipment you got all the ends covered!

Oh I want a franchise!

I would come down there and support it, haha.

I would sell any of them for an amount that I think I could find a cleaner example of the game for. If I had a nice HUO game I loved or something, it wouldn't be fore sale for any reasonable price. But if you want to pay me twice what any of my games is worth, I would consider it. :)

Most of mine are for sale if the price is right. And the harder-to-find games are not as easy to get as money is. So if anyone want's to buy them, they better recognize!

But with selling a game, I would consider if I really enjoy it that much, or if I would really miss not having it to play whenever the heck I want.

mine aren't really for sale, even if the price is right. i've stopped just buying games for the sake of it and am trying to only grab stuff that i actually want to own in my personal collection.

my donkey kong would be for sale if the price was right, though, cause it's a cocktail and i'd rather have an upright.

Ok I see about 99% of everyone would sell there games. Its just hard for me to part with some of my games that I either put a lot of work into it to make them look the way they do or either having to travel the distance to get a machine that would be hard to find again and in that same original condition. I figure it like this. Sometimes money isn't everything (even though we all need it right about now) and diffently don't last forever unlike a game that might not work forever, but you will still have it forever if you choose. I guess since this is all still exciting to me and I only been collection for a year and a half that maybe my thoughts will change somewhere down the road.

Well, don't get the wrong impression... I will always have games. But if - and only if - the price was right, I would let some go.

And that's assuming that games are still available. If I had the only 7 games in the world, they could only be taken from my cold, dead hands. ;)

I have some games, that while no matter what the value, I would NEVER sale! Even if I could get another, it wouldn't be mine.

How much are we talking?? I'd say most are for sale however there would be a small number of them that will never be sold due to nostalgia. The first game I ever bought back in 1984 (Space Ace) will be with me until it I stop breathing. I've been thinking about how to handle a living trust or will for when that day comes. Man, I pity the fool that has to go through all my crap.
