Question for you side art printers: Removable Side Art

Can any of you guys print on the material that fatheads use? I would like some shrunken DK side art to put on my DK cabaret, but I don't want to permanently affix it. It would be awesome if I could get it in that Fatheads vinyl that is removable/restickable.

Heck, I bet a bunch of guys would like it just to they don't have to worry about ending up with this:

what is fathead vinyl?
just use a little scotch tape when handing your non-permanet sideart

It is called low tact vinyl.

This site has some good information:

This place sells the low tact vinyl

WallHogs uses Photo Tex

I just read all of those same links, but I thought it would be more fun to quote your answer from your previous thread. I can be a d*ck sometimes.

And so as to not derail your thread with senseless banter back and forth. Removeable sideart could be pretty cool for those who have a generic cab and want to change sideart when they change kits. Since they can be re-applied to the backing the art can be put away with the kit and used again later. Just a thought.

No problem, you are cool! And the kit idea is great too!

yeah I still dont get it

why in the world would you want to install and then remove DK side art?

basically its just printed on a low tack vinyl. nothing that special
white low tack vinyls are also used for stenciling
but when you remove its still going to stretch a little
the only real difference is it wont leave any adhesive behind like standard vinyls
when you do remove it.

and I dont think it will hold up that long especially after removing and installing even once
Just take a look at some of those "cheaper inkjet" sources on ebay and the likes
about how the sideart just starts to peel off the cab.

Well my cabaret is wood grain, and never had side art. I don't want to put something on the cabinet that will damage the wood grain.

So what does Fathead, WallHogs use? Is it a tougher vinyl that doesn't stretch? That doesn't really matter to me, I just wanted to jazz up my cabaret after seeing Phet's beauty.

I gotcha now.
well not sure what fathead uses they dont really say, or at least didnt see it on the site
and neither say how thick the material is.

The last link list as a fabric??
if you want to buy the sample and have it sent to me Ill check it out and print
the DK art on it.
though not sure it can be plotter cut.

Awesome! I will ask them if it can be plotter cut before I order a sample. Do you have a UPS#?

Edit
Forget the UPS # I thought I needed it. Just PM me the address I should have it sent to.

I think this is a great idea for Nintendo cabinets because the kits are so swappable.

I've got a verical mount cab that could be running DK, D2K, DK Jr. or DK3 on any given day, and a horizontal mount cab that could be running Mario Bros, Popeye, or Vs. I have artwork for a lot of them but the only thing that's not easy to swap is the sideart.

Replying to keep tabs on this. Would love to put some Centipede art on the cabaret I just bought. Wouldn't dare do it with a permanent solution, the woodgrain's too nice, but I'd love something I could remove if I ever decide to sell/trade it.

What was the resolution on this? I feel like I saw a video from Tighe about this for a DK caberet or something. Basically, I want to get Mario Bros side art that is removable since it is a conversion in a DK jr cabinet.

Thanks.
