During gameplay, alot of phrases said by the cryptkeeper seem to get cut off. Its usually during intense gameplay such as multiball, but its also happening if i drain a ball in single ball play as well. Its like he starts to say the phrase, and then the music kicks in and cuts him off. is this normal?

Cool, Thanks Russ! Ive replace the main rom and display roms, but i havent done the sound roms, wonder if that could be a part of it maybe?

Cysnake - looks like this behavior is normal, or at least the same in my TFTC.

The Cryptkeeper callouts are cut short when other events occur, like a ball drain or Creature Feature achievement.

I forget if I asked you - does your TFTC have the two skill shot plastics over the 3-bank drop targets (guillotine) intact? Mine are missing/broken.

i think it's normal on a lot of pins, depending upon how long the phrase is and the likelihood of another switch being hit during that phrase...

for instance, star wars has a rather long line from vader on certain drains to the right ("you have failed me for the last time") - if you're familiar with the movie or the pin, you'll recall that he says it rather slowly. anyway, most of the time the phrase gets cut off by the time the ball enters back into the trough (or whatever the hell the thing is called that houses the balls not in play) because it just takes too long for him to say it.

that's the main one i've noticed on my pins....

Thanks Guys! Russ, I have one plastic above the drop target bank, should there be two? Mine is intact except for an extra drilled hole or two. (last owner moved the light)

There should be two plastics (upper and lower) above/behind the 3-bank drop targets.

Plus 2 lights - a spot light and a 555 socket in between the two plastics.

Should look like this (not my game):

The upper plastic and both light sockets are missing on my TFTC and the light wires are dangling under the playfield.

Looking for NOS, used or repros of both of those plastics.

Wow, that explains a lot, I never knew it had a lower plastic. That explains why there are extra holes drilled in mine. I have the top, but dont have the bottom, and now that you sent that pic, mine looks really funny. Thanks for sending me on another quest!! HAHA! Let me know if you find one, or where i can get a good scan of it. Ive been toying with the idea of making plastics, and this might be a good kick in the pants to get me started. I can get you a scan of the upper plastic if you need it.

I have good scans of both of those plastics.

Give me your email by PM and I'll send them over.

If you end up fabricating them, I would love a set.

Thanks,

RM

Srry to bump for non related, but I got to play this for the first time during my trip to Chicago. Pretty fun game. I love the loop in the wire ramp. Both games were severely out of level and it drove me insane, but at least I got to play two new to me games.

Holy crap !!!

Is that a TFTC still out on location making money?

Amazing. 17 years of service !!!!

I wonder how many actual plays on that bad boy.

I see the original "Door Handle" launch assembly has been replaced by a simple button.

TFTC was in great condition. The handle was there, but yeah a white button. Thought that was just how they were and found it strange.

Both of the machines had the amusement companies sticker under the translight art. Like between the art and the glass. Unless they just cut it. Found that to be really strange.

Played the stern batman at Little Jim's in the gay district. The artwork on the walls was awesome.
