I'm restoring a Defender machine and have a question about the Control Panel:

Is there any molding between the top of the CPO and the glass bezel? Mine has a hack-job CPO with a large gap between it and the bezel glass.

I assume either the CPO is supposed to butt up against the glass, or there is some plastic molding/metal rail to fill the gap...

which is it?

Thanks in advance for any help

There is a plastic molding piece that actually mounts on the bezel. It is basically a lower bezel bracket. I don't think anybody reproduces it but arcadeshop sells a piece of molding intended for Williams games (except for Defender) that will actually work as a substitute if you adhere it to the CP.

Mine butted directly to the plexiglass bezel.

I don't quite know what Greg is referring to...I'd like to know if mine is missing a piece though, that's for sure.

This is the part (not my pictures). I don't believe the early Defenders had them (it's not listed on the parts list for the silver-door model), but black doors and some silver doors do have it.
