OK I am new to the arcade ownership world, I just got my first arcade recently and it is Donkey Kong its original and I love the vintage feel. Here is the problem and its a good problem I am addicted and I want more games. My question or advice to everyone is I want to have either a Pac-man, frogger or Rampage machine but I know I wont be able to afford all right now and room I could find but it will be limited. I just cant decide if I want to take my time and go one at a time or get a 60-1 machine. I am one of those guys who likes the vintage feel and I know I would like a 60-1 machine but I am afraid I wont enjoy it as much as an original. Any advice would be great because you guys are the best.

If you have the space and money, avoid the multicade stuff. The games don't have the same atmosphere as the original cabs. Based on those three that are next on your want list, I'd go with Frogger. It'll run cheaper than Pac, easier to find than a nice Rampage, and compliment the DK real nice.

If space is an issue, I would say go for the multicade, 60 classic games that can be plugged in to a $100 jamma cab is wonderful.

I don't know,i started with a 60-1 in my dining room,i figured no room, one vid and a pin and dining room is full.An asteroids follwed, and space invaders.Thats ok i can move the table to the corner,it will be ok.Then came frogger, time pilot, centipede and a galaxy pin.Table is on back porch and now i have room for 3 more games and one more pin and i can stuff a shuffle bowler along one wall i think lol.Shuffle bowler may be a stretch, but i can make it fit.
Welcome to the sickness.Buying the 60-1 just made me want the original dedicated cabs more for some games.Others i'm happy to play on the 60-1.
So my advice.......start looking where to make more games fit now,as you will be bringing more home whether they fit or not.

Prices are pretty darn low, if you got the money buy em all. I personally don't like the idea or look of a 60 in 1 and Never understood why some one would want to make a jamma machine where they are switching boards all the time. I say buy all your favorite classics and then stick a mame machine in the corner.

Multi's have their place.... for the obvious reasons..

but you'll find many who have a multi, still go out and buy a dedicated game that the multi already has on it..

one multi is 'cool' to have and your friends will think its great..

but even a small room of games will make them flip out

[raises hand] GUILTY!

I am still running a 48-1 in my Ms. Pac-Man though (for now). I suggest going that route, you can always change it back later if you want. There are ways to add a 60-1 or 48-1 to a Pac-Man without any hacks, if you need evidence of that just look me up on YouTube.

Welcome to the madness!
I would personally go with the original dedicated machines. If you have space to fill. If not you could consider a multi. The multis just don't have that original feel.

You can get a Pac Man and then put a kit on the board that will play pretty much all the bootleg mazes, Ms Pac, Pacman Plus, etc..
