i have a noob question thats pretty straight forward...
is it bad to transport a cabinet laying down as opposed to standing up? I'm about to make a 14 hour trip and i only have access to a cargo van so i wanna make sure i know the risks...

thnx

Laying on its back is fine.... Have transported both a 720 and Dragons Lair on their backs for long drives. 720 was Cleveland to NJ. LD removed of course on the DL.

just make sure the inside is clean of any loose coins or screws when i picked up a game years ago i never checked. long story short a washer lodged itself in my power supply when i got it home turned it on and it fried it. also make sure the control panel is secure if not it can slide off and up and hit the glass.

Also take out the pinballs out of the machine.oops, sorry ithought you were talking about pinball

MAKE SURE you do an inspection for loose boards and monitors!!
No harm no foul for laying on back and sides (back keeps the sideart out of harms way),
but if you have loose stuff inside, well, I think you get the picture!!

Check out the game transportation (vehicle abuse) thread... some of us do some pretty crazy transports!!!

just make sure your fridge has time to for the oil to drain back into the compressor. rule of thumb is to leave it unplugged as long as it was on its side
