For the people that own a T&F or Hypersports.

How do you have your leaf switches adjusted for the run buttons? Do you have the contacts really close together? Normally spaced? Or spaced farther apart than normal?

Haven't heard of these previously either.

I wouldn't mind trying those but it looks like I will need new crimp connectors for the harness…

FYI Ultimarc GoldLeaf switches are not leaf switches, they're micro switches.

To answer the OP's question, I prefer to have the leaf switch contacts close together. I'd prefer that with any game that uses leaf switches if you're going to be playing it for more than a few minutes.

R U SHUR?

  • No Click Leaf switch means no clicking micro-switch.
  • Compact integral design. No fiddly assembly after fitting through the panel. Totally enclosed leaf-switch contacts.

They look and sound a lot like the fusion buttons...

Hybrid American style pushbutton with Sanwa type microswitches. Ultra quiet and effortless ease of use.

Always standard leafs for me. Tight gap, and make sure surface contacts are nice and clean. You can play with different plunger springs if equipped.

Started a similar thread about button tuning a while back:

Now see, that's what I did with mine. They are very close together, contacts are all nice and clean. But I swear, I can't seem to get a lot of speed in the running events.

For me it depends on which pressing technique I'm using. For my 2 finger taps on each button in Hyper Sports, I like them close, tight and clean. Slightly wider and just about normal distance works best for my 8 finger roll.

Always leafs. I tried Micros a few times because people swear they are faster and better. They can Fk off for wasting my time.

I put Goldleafs in all my button mash games, my NeoGeo cabs, GnG, a bunch of others. Personal preference when you play games that need repeated button smashing. Mainly just for feel of the button. I got on them a few years ago when I tried them in my NeoGeo and realized a really liked the throw and the sound. Yeah, they arn't original, I'd Never put them in an Atari cab, or a Nintendo game. But the odd Capcom game, TnF, Absolutely.

I HAD the original leafs and some Dynamat in my TnF CP, but after a week I pulled them in favour of the Ultimark ones. Less resistance, nice return, better sound, softer feel but not slower, very snappy. Less fatigue when mashing. Yeah, I had to crimp on the smaller terminals, but it was a quick change and definitely worth it.

TL/DR: It's weird, you know how some controls just FEEL like they match the gameplay? Nintendo sticks playing DK for example. You'd never put a HAPP stick on a DK, just doesn't feel right, ...these ones just felt right for most of the events in TnF and HS.
