question about shuffle shot cab putting shuuz in it too

I have a shuffle shot cab. put a 2 in 1 switcher in there so I did not have to swap boards all the time instead just push a button to swap games. My question is I was wanting to make a y extension off my benson trackball. would that work. wire the connection to male connector off the cab wiring harness and and then, the y would come off the harness and off the trackball harness of the shuffle shot. just wanting to make sure this will work before I go buy the connector to the harness and make the y harness. I hope this makes sense I am not good at typing what I am wanting to say. Wasn't sure why the benson trackball is cocked in the mount and didn't know if the trackball had to be straight up and down and left to right for the shuuz game.

thanks in advance

I think it might work, but as it was explained to me when I was thinking about doing this is that the the trackballs use different orientations. so Up/down on your shuffle shot will be meesed up on the shuuz.

what is the orintation on trackball

I was wanting to know that the orinatation for the suffle shot and then what it is for the shuuz.

thanks

as far as I know they aren't reversed. As it was explained to me.

The atari trackball axis is off by 45 degrees from the Betson/imperial as they use different Axis. So Up/Down movement on the betson translates to lower right to upper left on the Atari. so it isn't a matter of reversing the wires, you need to change the orientation of the ball. BUt I haven't tried it yet as I Don't have a shuuz..

In that case a rotating mounting plate sounds like the only option outside of a complicated electronic solution that would convert the axis signals.

do they make them if so, where can I get one. So, if I am understanding this right, the shuffle shot is on a 45 and the shuuzs is on a 90 right or not. Or can I get some help on a diagram on what the mounting plate needs to be. I have a friend that can make it for me. I just need to give him a general idea how how the rotating plate needs to be.

thanks for all the replys

I looked at the flyer and I don't see why it would be oriented to have the trackball rotated.. Looks like you push up to go up and left to go left (etc).. I have a strata bowling (same manufacturer as shuffleshot). I could understand the orientation being different if the game layout called for it ( like qberts joystick).. But I don't see it. Did you actually try it or is this here-say?

I guess it is here-say. Just read somewhere on here and I think somewhere else it was different. I just didn't want to spent time on something that is a lost cause is all. Was hoping somebody that is on the forum tried to do something like I am doing to give me there results. why I really never got a good answer then i will have to try doing this. Just waiting on my parts to come it so I can do trial and error. Im hoping this will not be that bad. LOL

thanks for all the replies.

atari was not conistent in its tackball layout. I tried shuuz in my rampart and it does not work with any of the trackballs. It acts like its truing to work with the left trackball.
