Watching an auction that is "local pick up only", but I asked the seller if he'd ship the game. If he agrees, how would I make sure it got securely wrapped and put on a pallet for pickup? Like if he cannot or will not do this and get it to say, a Fastenal location? What does paying someone to do this cost?

I just had a game picked up that I listed as local pickup only. The buyer didn't care, just bought it anyways.
The buyer did pay for blanket service which required a lift gate, and the shippers to wrap the game. All I did was move it from my garage to driveway.

Apparently, local pickup doesn't mean anything anymore. Just buy it :D

Most people here use Beltmann/STI, which is a 'white glove' service. That means they pick up the game, blanket and wrap it, and ship. So you as the buyer don't need to do anything, and the seller just needs to be there when they pick it up, same as they would be if you were picking it up yourself. So when you go that route, there is no extra burden on the seller.

Just search here for 'shipping' (or use the wildcard 'ship*' on the Advanced Search page), to get threads about options for shipping games. There are many of them, and your questions have already been discussed.

Also depending on the game get insurance if you use beltmann. They completely hammered a golden tee I had shipped to a guy. Luckily he had paid for the insurance. they covered most of the damages but as usual he had to fight them. He made the rookie mistake of signing before checking the game over. They still made it right tho eventually.
