So now that my arcade machine is going, I have a new problem. When I insert a quarter into the first coin slot (I know the second does not work), the quarter hardly ever hits the relay arm to trigger the game as having a credit. Am I missing a piece that directs the quarter to this relay arm? I attached a picture of the back of the coin door.

Thanks again for all the help.

Hello, and welcome
what you are missing are the coin mechs.

Also be aware the Super Pacman implemented a timing circuit so that it expects the coin switch to be activated for a specific length of time. Any shorter or longer it assumes someone is stringing a coin through stealing a credit and will send the machine into a lockout/tilt mode.

Thanks for the input! Are the coin mechanisms specific to each arcade machine? Or can I get a generic coin mech and put that on? Just looked at ebay and it seems that there are several for sale at reasonable prices.

Any old quarter mech will work (Nintendo machines use different ones and a few oddball machines do as well). You can use metal or plastic mechs. You could also use tokens but you need specific mechs for whatever size of token you use (most effective if you have a large number of games, not just one).

A Super Pac upright is my holy grail. So, how about some pics?

Yeah, as mentioned before, if either coin switch is held closed too long, the game will make a repeating coin up sound and not allow gameplay to start and have to be turned off and on again. Not a problem normally.

Thanks for the info. Here's a pic of the machine. Sorry about my photography skills. As far as the machine goes, it'll probably make you sick, but I bought it for $125 non-working. Bought a new PCB and power supply from a seller who didn't know if they worked for $10, plugged them up and it fired right up. Did have to buy a new marque bulb and starter and a $0.25 coin bulb. Everything works now (except for the coin mechs which are in the mail now). I always wanted an arcade machine, and to be a Pac-Man, which was the only arcade in the auction, was icing on the cake.

SERIOUSLY? Good grief that's a good deal.

Super Pac is on my list. I'll have to be happy with my MAME cab for now.

I have a super pac in pretty good shape... honestly though its the least played machine in the game area... When I have people over, there is a line for Ms. Pac... This one may get played while someone is waiting for another game to open up but generally doesn't see much action... Anyone else see similar results with super pac? I'm getting close to letting this one go to free up some real estate!

My Super Pac cocktail came to me for free. My parents got it non-working for $50. It had a interlock switch issue and a sound problem. It was an early Christmas present 3 years ago. I've had some power supply issues since then, but it is currently working. I love the cocktail table but the Super Pac I played as a kid was an upright. I still hope to have one someday.

Damn that game looks nice and for what you have into it a great deal. That thing looks clean.
