question about ordering an adaper from germany on ebay.

There is a guy in germany selling a part on ebay my buddy wants me to buy. In his ebay listing, he does not list shipping to the USA.

I emailed the guy and he said he would ship it here. Can youthink of any possible problems? Import duties?

If you think it will be a hassle, Anyone here in germany want to buy them and the ship them to me?

if anyone knows where I could get this in the USA, let me know..

I dont think it should be a problem because its a small item. I purchased a couple pinball boards awhile back from a guy from sweden it was not a problem but took a couple weeks to recieve them.

the link to the ebay auction is in my post. item is called:

Special Audio Spilt Adapter 30cm for DJ apps

I could not find anything like it here in the usa...

it does look like an odd connector. Not sure why your buddy wants it. I don know that they sell something that you can plug into from a headphone output and it splits the signal 4 ways. Each of the 4 channels even has it's own volume adjustment. I believe it may cost about $40 and require power though. Not sure if something like that would suit your friends needs.

PLEASE NOTE, This is a special audio adapter and not a simple Y-spliiter or a 3.5mm Headphone Splitter Cable Jack Adapter connecting just two headphones to your device!

I'm still trying to figure out what is so "special" about the adapter from Yumatron.
(looks like a simple splitter to me)

Looks like some of these will do the same thing.

But maybe I'm wrong and I'm just missing something. (?)

The difference I see between the your standard plug or adapter and the link Bill posted as well as the one above are the divisions on the male plug side. Looks like it works with the device you plug it to to provide dual stereo. I suppose with a specific device it might allow two people to listen to two different things in stereo at the same time.

thanks for all the help guys. I sent the link to my buddy. Hopefully they will have something up on that site he could use.

I agree, they look the same to me, he says he is intersted in it as it applies to DJ apps.
