I am moving my Nintendo arcades into my Basement arcade, which is primarily pinballs now. The wall I am putting them against has been known to get a little damp puddle maybe once per year in the heaviest rain and flooding. Since the nintendos are wood based bottom, is there anything I can do to get a lift on them? Like plastic feet pegs or something, just to give it enough lift so its not directly on the ground. Any ideas?

thanks

Yep, the nylon nail-on chair glides work well. Just pound one about an inch and a half from each corner of the base, on the side boards, not the front and back boards. They'll give you about a half inch lift.

Assuming you own your house it's time for you to get a French drain put in my friend. Clearly it's not normal for a house to take on water. Trust me, I have now been in 3 houses that the basement flooded and when you have to take your games out of a room and try to find space for them else where it's not fun. If it's your foundation that is leaking and needs to be back plastered again it's cheap and easy to do and is something anyone can do. Luckily I've never had my games damaged but my current home has a french drain installed because it would flood I was told by a neighbor.

+1!

I just did this. So far so good. (CROSSES FINGERS, KNOCKS ON WOOD, ETC.)

In my old house the floor in one corner leaked where they installed the carpet strips. After a number of years of pulling back the carpet and shop vac'ing water up I finally paid to have the aftermarket drain system put in. They jackhammered up 6inches out from the wall (under the finished 2x4 walls) and installed a drain. I paid them to do the length of the back wall all the way into the garage. They installed a sump pump in the garage. It was really nice hearing that pump kick on when it rained as opposed to running downstairs and pulling back the carpet, etc. Never had another problem (2 inches in an hour was the threshold and we had 5 inches in an hour after it was fixed, no problems!) I wish I had done it 10 years before!

New house/basement has all the proper drainage system - that, and poured concrete walls with the waterproofing on the outside....

Its concrete and I do have a floor drain if it gets too wet. Some of the old walls are cracked and will leak about once a year (heaviest rain). I think I am going to get gutters installed so i can push some of that rainfall away from the house.

Thanks for the input!
