if i remember correctly: the modern wells monitors are as follows

7400= standard res
7500= medium res
u5000= switchable med/std res

None are compatible with the other unfortunately, however they do look simular in appearence.

Unfortunately for you, 7400 is all that will work unless you swap out the yoke too.

Id love to survey everybody and have them measure these yokes, it would be awesome of the yoke readings of say a 7400 were close or the same as a old school k7000, then you could retrofit it to use a k7000 chassis. THis is probhably not the case, but nowadays folkd are swapping everything they can because tubes are not getting more plentiful anytime soon.

No. no. no.

The K7400, U2000, andU5000 all use the same yoke, and can be direct swapped. The K7500 has a different yoke and can't be used in place of a K7400 anyway. The K7000 could, but only with a K7000 yoke...

dope. Mod is always telling me in wrong :D

hehe so theres your answer. You need another 7400 or u5000 chassis( u5000 would be kinda cool, its dual res!!) thinking back, for the longest time i had a 7400 tube and yoke i ended up using with some off brand chassis because it was a close match, i coulda stuffed a u5000 chassis on there.. oh well.
