Hey guys im debating buying a machine but the person said they dont have the keys for the locks but it is set on free play. How much would it be to get keys made or is that even possible? Im a newbie so any info would help thanks

It depends on what type of locks they are. If they are standard keyed locks, I have a lock pick kit that I use to get those open. Though, I know it's not a common skill. If it's a cam lock, I drill right through. You need a pretty good drill and drill bit though. I use DeWalt and it does the job fast and easy.

you can either drill out or pick a lock. Then you basically replace it with a new one that you will have the key for. They are usually only a few bucks for new locks so not too expensive.

I ordered from http://www.lockpicktools.com/products.htm per recommendation of this thread:

and it's some of the best money I've spent on arcade stuff. Got a Millipede a week or so ago that had no keys and the guy had never opened it, opening the back door with my pick set took about 10 seconds and was able to get to all the other locks. If you're looking to get more machines and you remember to never take them out of the house (i.e. get caught with them while driving somewhere), they're well worth the investment. Beats the hell out of drilling just based on noise and mess alone.

My buddy picks up games that quite often have the coin-door locked up without a key. We just take off the back access panel, reach in and unscrew/unthread the lock. ;)

if it open then you can take the old lock out put another in in minutes. if its locked, NUMBER OF WAYS TO GET INTO IT DEPENDEING ON THE SETTUP. GOOD, LUCK WITH IT

if posting then have optons like spel check work but grammer check NOT AVAILABLE HOLY CRAP WHAT JUST, HAPPEND.
