I was wanting to replace my trackball in my golden tee. Went out and bought a used one. Well my question is when I installed it in the golden to. it works and all but it don't seem to drive a ball straight. it seems like it curves one way or the other. did I get ahold of bad trackball or did I install it wrong (which I didn't think it would be hard to do). does the trackball have to be level. I should be able to take out other one and put in the new used one. The only different between the 2 is the one on the GT is a imperial and the one I am installing is a happs.

thanks in advance

Sounds like just a worn trak-ball. The ball itself sits on two shafts that drive encoder wheels. If you spin the ball and it "drifts" to one side or the other, then you're probably looking at dirty or worn shafts, worn bearings, etc. You don't mention what was wrong with the old trak-ball - did it do the same thing, or did it die completely?

Take the trak-ball apart, clean the shafts (and the ball itself) with isopropyl alcohol and ensure that the bearings spin smoothly. If the roller shafts have started to wear down, they may need to be replaced.
