I just capped a 7000 series monitor. Put it all back together, but I there is hissing sound coming from the flyback suction cup that attaches to the tube. What is causing this. It is stuck on there good. I took the washer that was on the flyback and it didn't do anything. Still here hissing sound. Did I not put it on the right way, just puzzled.

Thanks in advance

Well, obviously make sure both pins are inside the anode hole, and that the wire from the flyback is still attached to them.

Then remove the old flyback (discharge!) and clean all around the hole where the suction cup goes.

And make sure you connect the dag wire from the tube to the neckboard...

I also noticed the the screen is upside down and flipped. If somebody could help me on that too. I never touched the yoke or moved it. Could this be the problem. If so how do you adjust the yoke. Thanks mod. I think I fixed the hissing just can't figure out what cause the other thing now. If it's not one thing it's another. Lol

Well, if you took the entire monitor out to fix it, you might have put it in upside down.

The easiest fix is if it's a JAMMA board and you have a dip switch for flipping the screen. If so, just turn it off, change the switch, and turn it back on.

If not, then you'll have to change the yoke connector. usually it's red blue yellow green. To change it, make it blue red green yellow. If it's not already cut, cut the connector between the blue and yellow, then rotate each half...

I want to thank you mod. For all the help you have given me. I have another question. I've attached a pic. It is on the side of the monitor frame. What is it? It seems like it gets hot, not sure if that is normal or if when I capped the monitor that it was a new problem. If someone can tell me if it's suppose to get hot or not..

Thanks in advance

I want thank mod and retro for all your help. Thanks monitor works great. Now I'm going to try to find a donor tube to swap out. If anybody know a good donor tube for this. It's a Phillips tube with a wg 7000 chassis. I read where a deawoo would work, but is there any others out there that would work to.

Thanks again mod and retro for all the replys.
