I am looking at a Fish Tales, but the LED for the score I was told slowely faded out now nothing is displayed, and I want to know what could be wrong with it and how much it would be to fix it... and also how much do they go for, everything else sounds like it works minus needing a rubber kit as well....

Make sure you look for wear on the playfield. Mostly around the fish inserts. Doesn't really hurt gameplay but most of them are really worn down so a good one is worth more.. (assuming your buying this)

It could be one of two issues,1.the display has outgassed and can not be fixed a new one has to be replaced,The dot matrix board has issues

an answer to you question. If it's the dmd glass, they run as cheap as $135 new (madamusements) and if it's the dot matrix pcb board, those are anywhere from $90-100 new. One or both fixes the problems in relation to the display issue.

Thanks, James

i had an issue with no dmd display recently i suspected the high voltage section of the dmd controller needed rebuilt

well i was right, one of the diodes(d3 iirc) was reading .248(needs to read .4 to .6 on diode function of dmm)

rebuilt the hv section, and viola!, not one dot was out!
