I bought this awhile ago, everything works. The thing I wondering about is did these come with a power supply. Because this one don't have one. And should I put one on.

Thanks in advance

huh? of course they came with a power supply...

are you referring to a switching power supply vs. a linear power supply?

Yes, a switching power supply. By any chance can you post a pic of the linear power supply.

Thanks

If somebody could take a pic of there linear power supply that would be great. I guess I've never seen one for this. I just want to make sure this is wired up right. I know it works but it just don't look right.

Thanks in advance

I'm almost sure a galaxian runs on A/C like pacman. I haven't looked in one in a while but if I remember right the board converts the a/c to d/c on the board so there was no need for a separate power supply.

I was wondering that. That why I thought it didn't look right. That would explain everything. So the board converts everything.

Thanks

I have seen numerous original, dedicated Galaxians and all came with the same power set-up as Pac-Man (120vAC is converted to 12vAC and 7vAC by the "bricks" in the bottom of the cabinet and the AC is then converted to DC on the board itself. Again, just like Pac-Man. Yes, Pac-Man and Galaxian boards will work in the other's cabinet with a few control issues (IE. a Galaxian PCB in Pac-Man cabinet require pushing up the joystick to fire).

If you find a linear PS or switcher in there, then it's not original.

Scott that for clarifying that. I have a dedicated one like what you explained.

Thanks
