Hi - fixing up a Tron. This may be a dumb question but i want to make sure.

The wiring was hacked off the AC connection from the monitor chassis - WG42 series i believe.

Two black wires off the chassis, were taped to two wires off the main harness - White and black wire. Fair enough - i ordered a disconnect (.93) from Bob Roberts. This evening i crimped and attached - but want to make sure i have it right -

One of the wires off the monitor is black, and another is black with white stripe. I connected the White wire off the harness to the black/white stripe, and the black to black (using the two pronged disconnect).

Is that ok? Does it matter which side is which? Thanks for any help.

Polarity doesn't matter. You just need to be sure that the monitor is actually connected to the wires intended for the monitor (i.e., they need to be coming from the isolation transformer). Arcade monitors require isolation transformers to run, and other 120vAC wiring in the cabinet (like for the marquee light) aren't isolated.
