I Just turned my Bad Dudes Cabinet into a 48 in 1 multicade game. Got everything to work. can play games and everything works. Just got one problem. When I play some games I can't seem to see all of the screen. The picture is to tall on some of them and even on the start up screen too.and I adjusted the knobs in back but it is still not right. Will I need to add a service buttom on it or would a switch be better. On the harness there is not a service switch on it I will need to add one. will that help me get this problem fixed.

thanks

Your jamma harness does not have a wire for service and test ? it should.. check a jamma harness map at www.therealbobroberts.net

and yes.. you need to get into the setup screen thru the service and/or test button to adjust some settings, etc..

a momentary button works.. you hold it in while powering it up.. once it goes into the setup screen... you release the button...

also... you sure you were adjusting the right 'knob' on the monitor.. you didn't say what monitor you have... but there should be a knob for screen size ... maybe you just missed it.. they can be hard to find sometimes..

you could post a pic of your chassis or tell which one it is to make sure...

You just have to adjust your horizontal size/width on your monitor, of mabey just the horizontal position knob if the picture is up too high and you need to bring it down to center it.

flip dipswitch #4 to get to service menu.. I don't think that will help... Oh yeah do this when it is off and then turn it back on.

If your new at this do your homework before playing around behind the monitor. Look up the kind of monitor you have there are plenty of guys here that can help you.

Not all games used on the 48-in-1 were programmed to utilize the same dimensional output. Usually you adjusted your screen to make it fit properly. However, some games (like Ms. Pac) will look big and others (like Frogger) will look small. What I usually do is make it fit perfectly for Ms. Pac, and the others all seem to fit (even though some look smaller).

If you can't adjust it down enough, you may need to change the size of your width cap...

Mod is correct. Some games will have different dimensions than the title screen. It is annoying as all getout, but you just go a bit small on screen dimensions and it will be okay.

thanks for all the info...

I will look into putting the reset and test switch in...Was pondering on this for 2 hours and figured out that the horizontal knob was in the middle of the board. adjusted it and now everything is fine now. the only thing is putting the rest and test switches in...

thanks again for all the input

I find it easiest to just wire the test and service buttons into buttons already there. If using an upright, I wire the test to the 2nd button (1st being fire/jump) and the service to the 2nd Player Start. It makes is much easier to access the menu on power up, and easier to make changes while in the menu...

The other problem with the 48in1's is it won't run very well with certain monitors. The two best chassis that work with the 48's from my experience is the WG7000 and WG4600.
