Hello all I have a project I am trying to revive and I seem to have stumbled upon a issue above me. The Game has 4 wire Component video R G B Yellow Sync, The TV I have does not have that, it only uses R G B (Sync on Green). Can I Y the Yellow and Green out of the game to make "Sync on green"? or do I have to have some kind of adapter.... I don't want to go buy a bunch of Adapters if its not going to work.

Need more info to help really.
What game?
What TV?
Pics wouldn't hurt either.

It is a Top Skater and some random 50" plasma TV that was in another cab I destroyed.... All I am trying to do is get some kind of signal to the TV It may or may not work I know... But the general question about combining sync to make sync on green should not matter what game..... Or am I totally wrong on this?

Sync on green is actually a Sony standard and it is just that- it uses the green line for sync signal so a seperate sync line isn't needed.
If the top Skater has a yellow RCA line it could be a composite output that has everything on that line (and results in a not so great picture) but wouldn't know without pics or more detail.

I don't know what frequency the board puts out vs. what your screen will accept.

There are multiple possible solutions if there is an issue but it might just work as is if you use the right cabling.

Do you only have the game board or the whole machine?
What brand screen?
Should post pics of outputs and inputs.

Might want to change your subject to Sega Top Skater monitor question to elicit help from the former Sega employees here on the forum.

Happy to help if can but again, need more detail.

Top Skater runs on Sega Model 3 which can output in either medium (24khz) or high (31khz) resolution, aka VGA. (Model 3 has a VGA port, at least on my Daytona 2 cab).

It might be worth instead to grab a GBS Control and use that to feed it to your 50" Plasma (which I assume has HDMI). You can then also letterbox the game so it is the correct aspect ratio as your plasma will likely stretch the image to 16:9.

I am assuming that your plasma TV is 16:9 and has HDMI however.

Like bobbyb13 said, more details about the TV you are using would be very helpful here.

IF it has a VGA port I can just plug into the VGA on the TV actually.... Is there DIP switches on the game for Resolution or is it plug and play?

Just quick popped to the garage and it shows it as a sega model 2B?? I see A RGB out header but nothing on the connector that looks like VGA.... So I am probably stuck with EGA out then...

In my experience, it is plug and play.

It looks like Top Skater is indeed Model 2, so I was incorrect initially. You will need to make an adapter to adapt the connection physically. The Model 2 uses 24khz (Medium resolution) by default. You might be able to connect this to the Plasma's VGA port if it supports medium resolution. Otherwise you can use a GBS Control to scale it up to high resolution and then plug that into the VGA port on the plasma. This might be the easiest option as then you just need to adapt from the Model 2's connectors for video to TJC2 5-pin. Both myself and APAR sell them.

So would this Directly connect to the game board, or will I have to still use that side board that has the BNC connectors on it? Also what is your site that sells these adapters?

I only sell the connectors you would need to connect to a GBS Control board, which are called TJC2: https://shop.fabtekgames.com/products/tjc2-connectors-crt-video-connectors?variant=46078667260125

You would still need to make the other end of the adapter which would go into your Model 2 board.
