So I was looking on Craigslist a few days ago and to my surprise... I found a guy selling a 4-slot Neo Geo Candy. The guy is literally down the road from me so I'm thinking I should snatch it up before I lose my opportunity.

However, the guy is asking for $900 for it. I'm not that familiar with Japanese cabinets so I'm not sure if this is a fair price or not. Is this a good price, or should I try to talk him down a bit? The cabinet is nearly perfect -- minus a few small scratches.

If anyone can lend me some advice I'd really appreciate it!

Listed below is what the cabinet comes with.

Japanese Neo Geo arcade cabinet
Newer 100% perfect condition 25" Monitor
Original Manual for cabinet
4-slot Neo Geo board (already installed and ready to play)
5 Neo Geo games (games are in English)
-King of Figthers 98 (best KoF in the series hands down)
-Rage of the Dragons (arguably the best fighting game for Neo-Geo, awesome tag-team air-combo action)
-Sengoku 3 (best beat em' up game ala Final Fight / Streets of Rage, unlockable characters, infinite combos)
-Crossed Swords (great action / RPG that is two players, very unique battle system)
-Blazing Star (best side-scrolling space shooter in my opinion, anime style, great bosses and many ships / characters to choose from)
ALL games include the mini-marquees that light up to show which games you are playing.
Also will throw in a few misc marquees for games I used to have and also some cool "move-list" stickers for some other games that are left over

Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks,

-Rafi

If the machine is in Mint condition like you stated and a new monitor the answer is YES its worth buying for that price you cant go wrong with Neo Geo and theres so many awesome games for it graphics and sounds are unbeatable!!.I would buy it i bought one twos ago and the shipping alone to my location was 385.00!!. Good luck and let us know what happens

Thanks for the responses!

In talked to the guy and the best he'll do is $850. I still gotta clear it with the wife... but I'm leaning towards buying it. To be honest, even my PC10 was hard to find where I live. I wish I lived in the Midwest where all the arcade cabinets reside, haha. :D

Thanks again!

Honestly, you can get a better deal on one shipped from CA... Japanese cabs are cheap there unlike anywhere else in the US, and your'e close enough that you could pick up a perfect cab for $400-500, and have it shipped for $300. Then again when you're in that far, maybe nearby and $850 isn't that bad. I'd try to get it down to 750 tops, though.

Value also depends somewhat on which 25" candy Neo cab it is.
