I got a trron mini in awhile back and its not in the condition I hoped for. What other midway cab can I use to make this one nice? My hopes would be a mini mrs pac. Is she a match?

Ms. Pac is different than a TRON. A Pac-Man cabaret should be the same.

Midway put a lot of games in multiple styles of cabaret cabinet, so it depends on what kind you have. Galaxian in particular is known to have come in two very different styles of mini cabinet.

I know of four styles of Midway cabarets:

- Pac-Man. Far as I know, all mini Pacs were in these cabinets, some Galaxians, Rally-X. "Laid back" style with small marquee area.
- Galaga. More upright looking cabinet, with small wraparound marquee. Satan's Hollow, Wizard of Wor?, Omega Race?
- Ms. Pac. same as Galaga, but with taller wraparound marquee. Some Galagas were also done in this style.
- Tron, Blue Print, Jr. Pac, others? Same as Ms. Pac, but with flat marquee & retainers instead of wraparound.

Nope.

The Pac-Man Mini Myte cabinet also housed Space Zap, Space Encounters, and maybe others.

The Galaga type also housed Gorf and the other Galaxian cabaret type.

There was never a Jr. Pac-Man cabaret and they came in conversion kits for Pac AND Ms. Pac mini conversions. A Pac mini conversion would have a flat marquee, and the wraparound for Ms. Pac.

Huh, a google search turned up two versions of TRON cabarets, one in a Ms. Pac style cabaret and one in a Pac style. Odd.

I may be thinking of Super Pac-Man. There have been a couple rare later Pac games which have turned up in what looks like a dedicated cabaret.

Yeah, this is exactly what I found. I had never seen it in the Pac style before. I don't know if this is a conversion or dedicated, but there are enough of them that it seems like it's at least somewhat common.

the Tron cabaret is DEFINATLY DIFFERENT than a MsPac
the one place to look is in the front height of the control panel
also MsPac is mono and I belive Tron is Stereo and pretty sure the Tron cabaret has 2 speakers
other canidates may be a Satans hollow, or Solar Fox but even those are pretty hard to come by just for an extra cab

I've seen one on here, and it was a custom job that someone talked about building.

The five pictures I found via Google search are all from the same website. Probably the same machine.

As you can see from the plethora of posts, almost every Midway cabaret has slight variances.

Gorf, Galaga and Ms. Pac will NOT work for sure. The marquee style is completely different. And from what I can tell, there may have been two styles... one as a conversion for Pac-Man (or to use up old cabs) the most common one I see if the one the resembles Ms. Pac-Man.

The big hang-up is the marquee tho. You can still stuff all of it's guts into whatever you want of course.

If it were me and the cab was badly damaged, I would repair it with new wood where needed, bondo and sand and just paint it black. The Tron cabarets are not all that sexy, IMO. Neither are the cocktail versions--that's not to say they aren't cool. I'm a big fan of the game. So do it up if it's not in great shape.

Have fun with it.
