I just saw that Quarter Arcade is now selling DK PCB's for 200. And I thought Mikes Arcade price of 140 was expensive..

Is that expensive? Maybe it depends on the work needed to get them working, or what he paid for them originally?

He can charge whatever he wants, it's his business.

If you think it's too much, don't buy it? Just saying.

Just a little arcade related news I noticed. I'm not making business decisions or looking for budget advice.

I'm guessing there has simply been a greater demand ever since the whole KOK movie. Which of course in turn means that the prices go up a bit. Also keep in mind that he may be running low on these boards. That coupled with the higher demand can cause the prices to rise. I would also think that there are more people that bought DK's that have no clue how or where to get them repaired. In those cases people tend to just buy a new piece to replace whatever they think is bad.

I have been a QuarterArcade customer for many years and yes, you will pay a little more but in my opinion it is worth it for piece of mind. I can't tell you how many dead Ebay boards I have recieved over the years...

2 Things. First, Quartercade backs it product. Second, they are the only place I know of who will bother to get you a board that meets Twin Galaxies standards for submitting scores.

I've bought from Quarterarcade a few times. Anthony is a straight shooter...he backs up what he sells, and gives good service. You won't get the best deal with quarterarcade, but he gives awesome service, and is a honest guy.

When ever possible i always buy everything from Quarter Arcade, it's automatic for me that i check there 1st. His parts are always as described and he ships very quickly. I have bought many boards and only one has ever come DOA and he has said he will warranty it (when i send it back). I have bought Vector Monitors as well and he took the time to update me on how the process was going when he was going through the monitor to "bullet Proof" it. As for Mikes? Well there is a thread on that already, unfortunatley my dealings were not as good. Anyways IMO $200 for a DK Board from Quarter Arcade that meets Twin Galixies standards is fair.

In that case, I'll sell anyone $200 DK boards that meet TG standards all day long.

This is NOT a hard requirement, just needs to be original throughout, no replacement chips.

My thoughts on the pricing : One charges $325 for a lowly Galaga pcb, where the other charges $65. I think we can stfu about $200 DK's now :p

Agreed, I've ordered a couple things from him and it's always been great.

That's a non-working Galaga board. I only know this because I saw the price earlier today and started to buy it. :)

I think the price for Mike's Arcade to convert your DK Jr. PCB to a DDK PCB is about $110-$120... However, "if" you want a PCB with it installed it's $200-$250.00. Didn't go over to Quarter Arcade to look but "if" it includes the PCB then the price is inline with Mike's.
