How hard is it to find a Quantum board. I bought a converted cabinet today, and will begin to look for parts. I do have ZVG as a backup, but would really like to make this original. So far I have found a CPO and a Marquee. :)

I thought I recently heard someone say the last quantum board went for $1000 on ebay.

I remember something about that, was it working? I remember I thought that was high.

Another question if I cant find a PCB. I will put ZVG in until I can find what I need to make it a dedicated Quantum again. Does anyone know if a Space Duel control panel will mount on a Quantum cab without modification??

quantum control panel is bent back little like liberator. not straight up like space duel and the others. So no, it will not work..

here is a pic. You can see the panel goes under the glass..

It was working... it was one of Francis's boards... he was trying to convince me I should sell some of my spares after that... heh.

Do you have a working machine?

Ok I see the panel is different. Thats a nice lookin machine:cool:

thats a pic of scotts proto. Mine is probably as nice, but mine is production.
Wow thats unreal proto, so sweet!!! Would love to see some pics of yours too:cool:

I have a question for you. Karl said the bezel was plexi, all my other vectors have tinted black glass bezels. I know where there is a stack of old vector arcade tinted glass, Im sure I can find one to fit, if tinted glass was original.

FWIW, I picked up a working boardset (as my extra) off of eBay about 3 or 4 years ago for about $425.

At the time, I thought this was a reasonable and fair price.

Hope you can find one eventually!

Jonathan

Yeah, that one was drilled to hell (2 joystick 6 buttons) and had a clear plexi bezel put in it.. It should have a heavy tinted glass with a paper bezel. The glass is probably space duel size, but it might be tempest size since it is vertical.. Hopefully its not custom..

When I get in there to test the pcb, I will also test my spare lunar lander pcb. Maybe I can take pics..

Here are pics of yours..

It ended up taking me eight months. I still cringe looking back at this thread: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=64545

I ended up paying ~$650 for a board with issues, and the subsequent repair. All worth it though; it's a great game.

I relate to your desire to have a working Quantum but basically "killing" an entire ZVG setup to play only 1 game is kinda sad IMO,... unless it's Space Fury! hehe:D
Good Luck!

Thanks for the pictures, could they fit amymore buttons on that control panel? What game was in it?

If my ZVG goes in it that would only be temporary until I get all the parts I need to get this baby original. The ZVG will eventually be up and working in its own cab.

I think it had TMNT or something like that in it. I thought the marquee was weird..

I will let my extra working Quantum board and CP w/overlay go for $1000.00 plus a working Lunar Lander pcb. Free Shipping!:D

These came out of Cleveland Coin back in the mid 90's. A collector named Rob Winner traded them to Bob Wood in Florida for a bunch of Ms. Pac's. I wonder if Bob still has any of them.

Anyhow, doesn't help the OP, but I thought I'd share the pics.

<jaw drops....>

thanks for posting the pics...

The dirty secret is that they weren't complete :)
I haven't seen Rob in a while, but I did give him shit last time I saw him.

Last time I talked to him, he'd gone all pin.
