Hi

Here is a pic of the fronts that Rich just finished. He is on to the sides now but I dont have a completion date. I know we're 7 weeks late on this but it's getting done.

Refunds are available to anyone that desires one.

Thanks for your continued patience

Darin

No problem waiting on this, as I know it's being done right. Thanks for taking it on and following through!

I second that. I'm happy waiting and really appreciate the contined professionalism. These pre-paid arcade projects are often delayed; it should almost be expected now. The ironic thing is, I'm guessing that the job owners who provide regular updates and offer refunds, never have to give them. Those who's jobs stall and no offer or updates are given prompt all kinds of Paypal claims and KLOV drama threads.

I agree, I have no problem waiting on this either. You know I will be in for a couple sets once this is done.

Thank you to you and Rich for doing this, I am glad it's getting screen printed.

what do you mean?

Also a BIG thanks for everyones patience, for those that preordered with Darrin and also to SeaWolf who provided me some orginal tear offs of his orginal sideart for color matching.

The colors have been quite the Quantum Quandry here and Ill post more as the sideart goes for those interested
but in a nutshell since we're using the orginal Atari films some colors are generated by screening overlapping colos
for example yellow over blue will make green, red or pink in this case over blue make the purple and so on.
theres very little control over this and different brands of inks will yield different results.
there a other techincal variations as well. so addtioanl setups were required to get the proper colors matches on these.

Rich has put in more time in this project than he is letting on. All for the sake of doing the best possible job rather than just printing it and releasing it.

I spoke with Rich at CAX to give him some gas about the Quantum artwork. I will be patient but jokingly asked his wife if he could still silk screen if his legs were broken. :D

My cabinet waits in the garage. I am getting the parts together to build up a repro board using Tronic's PCB.

As it is with all of Rich's work, it will be worth the wait. The results are always incredible.

Just got an email that says one side will ship Friday and the other side ships by Wednesday. Which means Ill have them a week after that and begin shipping immediately after I QC all of them.

Thanks again for everyones patience ! ! !

Darin, Thanks for the update. Talked to Rich a little about this art at the Seattle Show. I know he wanted to make sure the colors were correct:) Im sure it will be awesome, and well worth the wait. Again thanks to everyone involved in this, Darin, Rich and AtariScott:) Great project!!

Yeah the colors have been quite difficult and the sides have more details and addtional colors that are created by screening colors in layers that I didnt have on the kickplate for for example heres a shot of the process blue which gets screened down over the pink and red(which is actually more of a darker pink/fushia) but orginally whatever inks Atari used
created to med/lavendarish blue you see in the center triangle base and when overprinted the darker pink you get or supose to get the darker purple.
so when these issues come up new inks are mixed to match what the orginal produced then rescreened to match to get a more accurate repro.
Which does add time and screens to the project.

A special thanks to Seawolf who sent me some pieces of his Quantum Sideart to match up on the top. without them it wouldve been real hard to get a feel for these colors as they were originally screened to help this project.

More finsihing pics of final colors to come
stay tooned.

NO
That be a cheap well not cheap INKJET
your first clue is always look for and avoid the word "Laminated"
Ive never seen anyone laminate Silkscreened
and always question auctions and items for sell that dont have a real photo
and just a "graphic"

Darrins got the first side and kicks in hand and will be shippig him the flip side in just a few days.
Your wait is just about over thanks again to all for your patience and to Darrin and Scott for making this rare one happen
The real deal
