I'm making a reproduction of the black cardboard bezel for the original style Quantum cabinet. This is copied directly from my original, which I made accurate templates from. This is hand cut with a sharp razor and metal straightedge.

It's on a heavy matte board/cardboard, with a slight matte sheen. The original piece is slightly glossier, but the material looks great. This matches my original, cut for cut, including the razor cut relief lines for the folds. I am slightly pre-bending the folds and they should fit just right when installed, with little effort. Same as the original, it's 2 pieces, which you can assemble with double sided tape, which I will include.

Unfortunately for shipping cost, the original style bezel is one giant piece (3 sides) and a bottom piece. I assume most who want to build a Quantum or replace a missing original would want it cut like the original, so that's the way I've done it. I won't fold it up, as it would wreck the corner folds and look sloppy. I shipped one of these out so far to a very satisfied fellow KLOV'r, and USPS Priority was near $25, as I had to stitch 4 medium flat rate boxes together. I may be able to get that down some, but it's a pain to box and ship.

The cost will be $55/shipped in cont US. If someone knows how to get that shipping cost down, I'm open to it. My paypal is [email protected]

UPDATE: I got the shipping down by shipping these flat, between 2 stiff pieces of cardboard, much like some of the repro art is shipped. The first few guys who paid the higher price got the difference refunded.

The price for a Quantum bezel is now $45/shipped, USPS Priority, with delivery confirmation. My paypal is [email protected]

Due to demand and my schedule, it may take a few days up to a week or so, depending on me running out of material, getting more, and going to the post office. I'll make every effort to do this as quickly as possible and keep you updated. Thanks!

I added some more pictures in a post on Page 2

Here are some pics below of what you would receive (minus the double sided tape).

That's excellent!
I have been looking for one for quite some time.
You have been PayPal'ed my good man and thank you....

I can also do Tempest and Paperboy/Super Sprint. Possibly Lunar Lander soon, if it's confirmed that it matches Asteroids in cuts/shape.

I'd be interested in one folded up, to get the shipping down, and I'd cut myself a new one.

I'm going to box it assembled and see if I can get the shipping down. As far as how much, I will drop the price and refund that difference to anyone who has already paid. I will update this in the next couple of days.

Thanks a bunch!

I look forward to seeing more threads of peoples' Quantum builds!

I have to put the door locks on and swap in an Amplifone and I am DONE. I will post the final pics on my thread as soon as it is completed.

Joe Magiera made the bezel for my Quantum and it seems to be a lot of work. Thanks for offering to do this. Joe was trying to find more of the black cardboard - can you tell us where you sourced it?

Getting there . . .
1. Gather Parts (The hardest thing :D)
2. Gather Info
3. Spend lotsa time making the sucker (What time?)
4. Finish the sucker
5. Wear it out in first few weeks
:)

I'd take 2 Quantums if we could also get shipping down. Seems to me it could ship flat between t pieces of brown cardboard via parcel post. Need 2 Lunar Landers as well.
