Quantum PCB preorder

Is that the adjustable deflection angle TV?

LOL. Before I get a million PMs from people who haven't seen this before, it's just a normal Amp tube that I put in a TV case for stability.

I'm tempted to try a standard res tube, just to see what it looks like, but it's converged very well right now and I hate to disturb it.

Mine was misrouted by USPS, should have been here yesterday :(

But wait, what? They masked off the silver X-Y area with green as well? All Atari vectors have that area exposed, it's always been a telltale sign of an Atari vector PCB. That's a little disappointing.

I noticed that too and was disappointed as well, but I figure it's repro and goes inside the cab. If anyone sees it, I wouldn't try to represent it as otherwise. It might also help originals keep more of their value.

Yes, the analog vector section comes fully masked. Atari found that having an unmasked top you run into alot of shorts from the pins and parts being so close, if you look around the leads on the resistors and every part in that analog section they removed the copper completely. The mask will keep errors out from manual soldering of the parts.

I did try to see if the boardhouse would run a clear mask on the front, but they don't have clear mask.

Sorry guys, I thought you would be more happy to have it than not. I also thought there would be more attention to having the edge connector gold plated so it cuts down on the tarnishing that causes the sense to burn up the fingers.

Looking exactly like the original is not a concern, since the color of the board already dictates it's modern heritage. It's more of an aesthetic thing for me personally, the silver zone tells my brain this is a vector board - and I appreciate it accordingly.

As for original values, I am of the mindset that these reproductions will be MORE valuable than an original. Since they have never been reworked and all the chips involved are NEW, they will outlast originals many times over. Granted that all goes well, you can bet your life you'll never be prying my completed repro out my hands for the measly $1K originals bring ;)

Not really an issue at all. Like ballytablewiz said, I'm just very happy to have the board! You did an amazing job on these!

My God, it's full of stars

Received today.

It's... beautiful... stunning... simply breathtaking to even gaze upon. :notworthy:

I think I might have peed a little bit.

Tronic my man, you have truly outdone yourself. Thank you, and your wife for supporting this madness.

:adore::hail::adore:

Got Mine!!

Hmmmm....

What's that smell?

Solder!!!

Bill

Thank you

I am glad it arrived, like I said that was my first time shipping anything overseas.

I have bought at least 50 things from US, and they always arrive

Never lost 1 yet I am happy to say.

Cheers for the attention to detail.

AND

I like the green solder mask in the silver area and the gold edge connector

I was thinking of sanding the little serrated edges off the AVG :) Your thoughts?

You know that's Mark Spaeth's signature PCB with the serrated edges that look like a postage stamp. :)

Although his most recent run of AVG's that he sent me were straight cut.

Update,

I should have the remaing orders boxed up and shipped out by Friday.

I will send tracking numbers then for those that haven't recieved them

What kind of stock do you have left for these that were not pre-ordered. I think I would really like to have one but I am on the fence due to other purchases that may need my money currently. Any estimates how long these will be available.

Thanks for the comments, that's what a years worth of CAD work will do.

I shipped the last of the orders out today, feels good to finally have that done.

I will be away on vacation for a week returning Sunday the 7th.

Not sure if I will have internet access but if anyone ends up having trouble with their order I will address it when I get back.
