My friend has a Quantum cab can he is maybe gonna sell as part of a bulk deal. I thought I would see if anyone on here is interested before he gets rid of it. It's been converted as you can see in the picture. The harness is either gone or pretty hacked into. He does have a Quantum marquee for it(not pictured). If you are interested PM me.

Has anyone seen a higher serial number?

If I was closer I would be all over that. Even though there are repos available I would prefer an original cab.

Looks like they covered the sides instead of painting over it.. I am sure someone here would know if the art underneath could be easily saved..

Looks painted to me but who knows, the big question is what did the sides look like before they were painted or covered. I have removed paint from vinyl and removed contact paper on stenciled art before and everything is always depending on what's under the surface and what product your using for the removal to prevent any more harm then good.

I have been checking my PMs but forgot to actually check back on the thread. That is laminate on the sides. Shipping is available if anyone is interested. You are probably looking at $200-$250 roughly to ship it. This game is likely a product of a sad story from back in the 80's here in Richmond. There was a period of time where Quantums were on closeout from some distributer, Betson or Brady maybe. They were selling them so cheap that it made more sense to buy the cabs and put kits in them instead of buying new games. The story goes- B&B, a Richmond amusement operator, ordered a truckload of Quantums. When they came in, they stripped the monitors and boards out of them immediately. I was told they threw the 6100s and board sets right in the dumpster out back...I can understand why they did it at the time. It still hurts now just to think about it. Someone pass me a tissue.

I know the games where makeing no money anymore but that's just freaking crazy tossing new stuff right into the garbage like that.

The Quantum games were on clearance back then for $500 (when most games were around $2,000). They actually used the 6100 monitors in Star Wars cabinets because the Amplifones were burning up. They probably did toss the Quantum boards. The Quantum cabinets (like this one) were just converted to other games. I don't know why anyone bothered to put laminate on the sides. The Quantum side art doesn't even say Quantum on it, and the games in arcades were usually side-by-side with other games so you couldn't see much of the side art, anyway.
