Anyone got a working one, or one with the complete ROMs? Looks like this may be the final culprit to get my game working...or it could be a ZK anyone can clarify?? See pic:

Here's a pic of it when Allen had the original PCB set in it running:

Label is backwards, the Roms are all facing the same direction. Looks like I'm missing Q1 for sure...

it also appears to be two different revisions.
as one has all sockets in it and the other one does not have the 4th and 8th socket there. witch means less roms.

i am no expert on theses board sets dont even own one just an observation.

Peace

Seen that too but I guess that called for other revisions and also to do modifications over to a ZK boardset as well..

I know that there seems to be a couple romsets for qix. One leaves a couple of the sockets unpopulated. I dont remember which two but I have that set in my machine.

Here's a better picture of the ROM PCB that was in the cabinet when I had it and it was working (we already know the guy I traded it to wanted it ONLY for the working boardset)...

Mine was obviously different from the one described in the Qix 'Theory of Operation'.

According to that, you are most assuredly missing U3:

----------------------
3.4.2 ROM'S

Eight ROM locations are provided for the Data Processor, U12 - U19. These are selected by U21. Eight ROM'S, U3 - U10 selected by U2 are dedicated to the Video Processor.
----------------------

I keep getting the error code 010111 to so I'm sure it has to be related to the video somewhere.. ca'mon peeps, help a brotha out!!

There is another recent post that I posted about the different romset that leaves those three spots unpopulated. I would still pull and verify the roms but I doubt your missing any.

Yep... the other thread... I saw that. So that means there are at least 3 types... the two that are pictured and the one that the Qix manual explains and shows (which is neither of ours).

Still... if you are sure it's a problem with that PCB... pull the roms and verify them.

The guy you got the game from had no troubleshooting skills whatsoever and wouldn't it be great if it was only a mucked-up ( <--- technical term) rom that was keeping you from your game?

I know I need to verify the ROMs.. but I's still need that first physical Rom to get it complete.. wishful thinking Allen. Keep your eyes peeled. Wouldn't that be nice if that is indeed the case? ;0

Okay... gotcha. U wanna look at this pcb Riptor?

I have three sets of qix boards of my own here I need to repair. ...not enough time in a day. Maybe this winter I will start doing more repairs again. This summer I have been catching up on my long list of stuff to do around the house.

Alrighty. Keep me in mind (or prayers) when you get some future time allocated. :)
