This supposedly worked before the game was moved recently. The (original) power supply turns on (red LEDs are on) and the 6 LEDs on the main board light up for a couple of seconds, then turn off. If I push the test button, the 6 LEDs blink. The monitor is on but there is only a red stripe going down the middle. Is this just a loose connection somewhere? What should I try? Any suggestions are appreciated.

If it's a 4600 monitor, make sure both daughtercards are seated properly on the chassis. If the deflection daughtercard is tilted a little, you lose the deflection and can get a line right down the middle. (which happened to me as well)

There was a loose board on there. I pushed it in and now the monitor is all red with some dark red lines. I checked all of the cables on the PCBs and they seem to be secure. Any other ideas?

Couple questions to see if you have a running boardset:

If you turn the game on, do you get any attract mode sounds and/or can you play the game blind?

When you push the self-test button, does the Video Processor go through the Self-Test sequence?

There is no sound but the speakers sound like they are "on." The test switch on the PCB makes the red LEDs on the board blink. That's about it. Is there anything else that might be loose that I can check?

Okay, you're getting blink, so that's good. Download a manual and make sure that the blinks are runnign the self test correctly. You'll know if the boardset is running correctly at that point.

I am working on fixing mine now. Ive got battery damage. So I would suggest you check for that on your MPU. I am working on a parts order now, seems only mouser stocks the 74ls299n.

Step 1...

Take out the crappy power supply and toss it in the garbage.. Spend
$20 on a taito switcher adaptor, or buy the kit on arcadeshop..

I've owned a bunch of classic taito games, everyone of them had a
switcher kit in it.. Once you have the right voltages, then start looking
at the pcb.. Those old taito ps die without notice, so toss it
sir..
