Does anyone know how to remove the glass from a Qix? mine is in super tight and Im not sure how to remove it without breaking it?
Has anyone ever done this before?

Same as all the other ones...
Remove the CP, lift glass.

I've had ones that were really tight fitted and ended using a butter knife (no butter though!) to lift the glass up and out from the bottom.

it looks like the glass is in a channel (left and right side of the glass)
I really dont think this glass can be picked up. It looks like it has to slide somehow

Removal

I have a Qix cab that has been made into a Q-bert. The PO put the Qbert bezel into the old channel and to take it out, I had to slide it out the back...seems like there was a bracket (similar to a marquee bezel bracket) with three screws that I had to remove and then the glass slid out. I do remember it being rather tight.

I hope yours is the same. I can't get to the back of mine right now to take pics...

Hope that helps -

This is right. Open the back door, remove screws in bezel retainer and slide it out. I find it easier to drop the monitor first. The monitor is attached to wood pieces on the side. On each side there is a carriage bolt through the cab. Remove the 2 and with the back door open the whole monitor assembly will slide down and rest on blocks in the cab. It's then easier to get the monitor shroud and bezel out. - Barry

i had a capcom bowling that was in its previous life a qix . i just applied wd40 to each side of glass along the channels that held it. waited ten minutes and with equal force applied on both sides it slid out. here is how it looks after i got done with repurposing it.

Hmmm, I had the glass bezel out of that game before you bought it (so that I could clean the underside and the monitor). The bezel was really, really tight in its channels.

Now, of course, I don't recall exactly what I did... I think that I had the control panel off, and there was a bracket underneath it that I removed. Then, I was able to apply pressure to the bezel and slowly slide it up, back and out of the rear of the game.

My bezerk monitor bezel glass fits super tight into the cabinet - and when removing it once I used dish soap and it slid in very nicely
