Hello,

So here is the mess I have gotten myself into. It is a Qbert cabinet with orignial Gotlieb coin doors that was converted into something else. I was hoping that the wiring was still original but have found out the hard way that it is not even close. I am now gathering up the parts and finding out that this is not as easy as anything else I have built so far. I sanded the side down and exposed the original Qbert side art, which was exciting, so now I know I have an original. Unfortunately, thats the only sign at all that this thing is an original other than the coin door and assembly. So enjoy and I will continue to update as a go along.

Chris

Wow, how many layers of paint are on that thing! Did you try some paint stripper, like Goof Off 2 or 3M Safest Stripper? Plenty of threads here from people uncovering amazing side art from underneath layers of paint. Or will it be a complete stripdown and repaint with new art?

there are about 5 layers of paint

This cabinet will need a complete strip down and repaint. I did try the goof off and another airplane stripper but no luck. So I had to opt for the power sander, good news is that the cabinet is in great shape.
