I had this was sitting in the back corner of my building and recently pulled it out for a local trade. The deal fell through so I still have it and, for the time being its accessible.

The Bad: The cab itself is junk. It's swollen and, more or less, pretty far gone. The bezel is usable, but not what I would term as great.

The Good: More or less, minus boards and a marquee, its complete and unhacked. Full uncut harness, PCB mount board, transformer assembly, light, CP, joystick, knocker, and even the coin bucket. It would be perfect for a parts to deconvert another game or if you want to get wild buy a DPWiz cab and build it out. I would like to keep the monitor but if the "deal" necessitates it going with the cab then its a possibility.

The Better: This is what I would term an "early" production cab (guess). There is no filter board. Instead of the main harness hitting the back door at the top left and attaching to the filter to then cascade down it enters about mid way up and fans out to directly plug into each board. You loose the filter board as well as all of the IDC connectors going in and coming out. The boards are laid out differently to accommodate. The main board has its edge connector pointing left as opposed to straight up. The mounting board on the backdoor should follow the harness as it is setup correctly. The stand offs are still there, just snap on the boards. I did spot the IDC for the power supply board is a little toasty.

I would rather the entire thing go in one shot. I am not interested in parting it. Frankly, I don't want to mess with something like that now. I'm in the middle of a house remodel. As such I have a pile of little projects everywhere I turn. I'm not up to managing the sales of individual pieces, packing, and shipping. I am not even sure where my packing materials are!! Short of something the size of a marquee I'm not really set up for shipping. Since it was out of the corner I figured I would toss it up here before it was swallowed back into the abyss of the garage!!!

I am open trades or a cash sale. Let's just talk if your interested. If distance is a factor we may be able to work something out in terms of a meeting. A short road trip is not necessarily out of the question.

Wow, almost complete but looks to have been in or near water at one time! :(

Yeah, I think it was a damp garage. I did not see where it actually sat for a while...probably years. Kind of a shame. Classic case of the insides look great but the outside is a train wreck.

another PM sent. I'm very interested, if you would sell everything but the cabinet, monitor, and bezel (I have a repro) and want to make it worth your while to ship the parts.

Unfortunetly he will not ship the parts or I would of had them a few days ago. Whomever gets this if you dont want it and are will to ship the parts, please let me know. I just need the cabinet wiring and control panel. I have some good items for trade or cash.

Guys, seriously, I said I was not going to ship. Its not a cash thing, its not a space thing, it a "it's sitting here so I thought I would offer" thing. If I parted it I would still have what I have today..a cab sitting in my garage...but worth less, actually nothing, to someone since the good stuff is gone. I hinted at it but no one caught it..I'm not looking for another mess to clean up. If I gut it then I have a pile of wood to get rid of. If it goes...I want it gone. There are a lot of good parts there..but to be honest I would have to say that if anyone takes it they WANT the CP and the harness primarily so I doubt they would end up being resold.

Its not that big of a deal. If someone is interested we can deal a bit. If there are no takers..I will have forgotten about its existence, again, within a week.

Understood. I would actually want it solely to build a new cabinet for it and restore. The sum of your parts would be worth the same to me as a rough cabinet complete game.

Good luck, I hope someone moves it for your soon.

Its not a big deal to me either and not trying to make it into one. I just really could have use the parts to get a cabinet up and running instead of the parts not being used in your garage. I just see it as if you were to pull out the parts since the cab is trash, and yes your right about being with a empty cab to dispose of, but will be help me get another working Qbert out there. At the same time if you dont get any takers and you forgot about its existence like you say, then your still stuck with an useless cab in your garage to dispose of. Its cool I'm not here stir anything up or make anything out of this, just needed the parts. Good luck with the sale/trade of the machine. Thanks for letting me know you had one though.

Ah Ha... Now this makes sense. I have a harness that was not in a cabinet... but it doesn't have all the connectors that the one that is in my project cabinet has. It's missing the ones to the filter pcb. Strange thing was that it doesn't have any cut wires. Now the mystery is solved.

Here is a picture of the "back door" end of both harnesses. The one without the filter pcb connectors is at the top and the one from the cabinet (with the filter pcb) is the lower one. They are sort of laid out in the same fashion so the same connectors are in basically the same positions.

Early build qberts didnt have a filter board. The boards were layed out differently on the back door also.
