Greetings all

Just picked up my 1st Qbert

Works pretty well, but the joystick kinda sucks.

Not real accurate or responsive.

Is there a cleaning / restore / rebuild process for these?

Or a fairly priced replacement?

Thx much

Rob

Thx for the link Joey

GREAT stuff!

Any parts # for the micro switches that are in there?

Can they be found?

Digikey?

Bob Roberts?

Thx

Rob

I don't know the part number. I'm sure you could lookup the part number written on the switch to purchase something close or even exact, but it's not something I'd recommend unless you diagnose a broken microswitch.

There's a self-test mode on qbert. Use that to if the switches trigger properly. You could have a million other problems like the shaft sleeve not making contact, crack in the plastic body causing flexing, wiring issue, etc.

The microswitch plungers wear pretty bad on the qbert joystick. Take a new switch and hold it up to one on your joystick and compare the plunger length. If those switches are original they probably should be replaced.
