I acquired a couple of badly battery-damaged boards and sanded out the battery snot and patched wherever necessary. I had no means for testing them previously because the previous owner of the cab gutted out all the filter board wiring; I only just last night rigged up a switcher to the +5 and ground wires to the main board.

there were a few chips installed in wrong locations, which leads me to believe these boards were like parts boards after the batteries claimed them. which also probably means they didn't work before my surgery anyway.

this is the screen I get. I thought having 4 6116 rams as opposed to the 2 6116 and 2 2128s could've caused this, but I read JROK in another thread saying the 6116 only configuration would work.

I compared whatever parts I was confused about to the manual, so those are all correct now. CPU socket was pulled to verify traces and just installed a new socket. any information welcome! thank you.

I am sure you already tried flexing it while its powered up?
Bring it to me with a pinout and schematic we make sure it leaves the lab working.

lol. yeah the monitor's angled just right you can see it from behind. I tried pressing around. no change.

Looks similar to mine.

All the rams were shot and I replaced with 6116

Not looked at it since

I traded rams between the 2 boards with no change at all I don't think. I've looked it over a million times to make sure I didn't kill anything when I sanded the battery snot out, nothing looks out of whack.

my best guess is it's going to be more than just the ram that's bad. :)

any other takers?
