Quick question. I have the luck to find a second qbert for really cheap and it's complete except for the knocker working. My 1st qbert is a little fuzzy on the monitor and i adjusted the focus as best i could. I then took the tube out of the very sharp monitor and put it in the other one. Still fuzzy. Must be the chasis which i figured it was anyway. Swaped the chassis. Still fuzzy? ok, could it be the grey cable going to the monitor from the boards, the pcb? I sure would of thought it would have been the chassis. Thoughts?

sorry to have 2 threads going at once but they are different situations and i'm trying to understand what's going on. On this issue of one being razor sharp and the other one being slightly fuzzy,( i could live with it), i'm not sure why? The grey wire to the chassis did nothing when i swapped them so the only 2 things i havn't swapped are the power supply and the pcb. It's gotta be one or the other. Still don't understand why the chassis out of the sharp one (and the tube) didn't make it my slightly fuzzy one clear? Thoughts.

1) What types of monitors?

2) Connect the video output of the fuzzy one to the monitor in the other one. Still fuzzy?

3) No connect the video output of the sharp one to the monitor in the other one. Still fuzzy?

It's entirely possible you have something up with your isolation transformer in the fuzzy cab. or perhaps some AC interference on the video lines...

Or - your glass bezel and tube face are dirty on the inside, and makes it look fuzzy....

I'll try cleaning everything and then do the video board. I did the cable swap but wasn't thinking of the whole board. Duh! Thanks for the suggestions
