Qbert is giving me fits!!! Everything was working fine, now qbert moves down constantly. He moves left/down all the time but will go right but always down. The joy is working correctly and I have tested the switches and they work. I have ran continuity of each wire from the CP plug to the MPU plug. I have cleaned the edge connector on the MPU. I Cut the wire from the JOY in the down/left microswitch and no change. I reflowed all the pins in the filter board, rebuilt the PS. It was working fine, now this. Any ideas what I should check?

Don't have a logic probe, looks like I need to get one. Any suggestions on brand or manufacture?

The B14 suggestion is a good one, that seems to be a somewhat common problem, - for the heck of it, try bypassing that direction on the filter board completely while you're waiting on the logic probe - I just repaired a Qbert w/the same directional issue a few weeks ago by doing so.

I traced the inputs through the filter board and they had good continuity to the main board, jumped them per the suggestion with no change. I got the new 74ls240 from "twistywrist arcade" so pulled the B14 and the empty socket directly beneath it because they both had a little corrosion from the old nicad. Cleaned up/ neutralized the corrosion put a socket in B14 and the new 74ls240. BINGO, I'm playing Qbert once again.
