I ordered a sound kit and battery mod kit for my qbert from arcadeshop. I did the sound board and when I went to do the battery kit, it says to remove the old battery and diode at D2. Someone has already been in here and replaced the original battery with a lithium and looks like they did some other work in the area as well. I took a picture of what my battery area looks like. The picture of the board I have with the kit shows a resistor which has been removed from my board and a different diode installed on the battery. Should I remove the battery and diode and then replace the missing resistor or just leave it all alone? I replaced the cap at C25 with a bigger cap.

Although that could have been done a little cleaner, its fine the way it is. The resistor is only needed if your running nicads and need to charge them.

Thanks Riptor.. should I even bother with the NVRAM swap then or just leave it alone? I did the bigger cap at C25 that is supposed to help the corrupted scores on power down...

Also.. I think you said you have the volume pot? I need one..

No problem on the pot.. I'll try to give it some contact cleaner and see if it clears up..

So should I remove the lithium battery, extra diode attached and the diode at D2, then install the nvram?
