I'm finally fiddly effin' with my Qbert machine and have run into a brick wall...

I had no 5v whatsoever so I did a Riptor p/s kit, recapped and re-xisted. I also replaced both of the big blue caps on the p/s board, since one of them was scorched.

Reflowed all of my connectors and reflowed cold solder joints on my filter board, a few were bad.

I also replaced both bridge rectifiers in the brick since I had gotten a bunch of extras and I figure it was good insurance.

STILL NO 5V-DC!! I'm up to 1.8v-dc now, the LED for the 5 glows dim... All three other LED's seem good and are bright as hell.

Adjusting the pot on the power supply doesn't affect my voltage, I replaced it with the kit. Ohming out the 5v adjustment pot it has smooth action and gradually increases with no jumping around.

PLEASE HELP! What do I need to check next??

Riptor would be your man for this but if you didn't re-solder EVERY connection on the filter board, just do it. Only takes a few mins and well worth it.

I did re-solder every pin of the filter board... some were very scummy! I was checking my voltages across them and none seemed to be losing too much voltage. I double checked with a magnifying glass and they seem to be pretty smooth.

Should I bypass the filter board? Can I just straight connect all of the connectors with some .156 male/male header pins and bypass the diodes/resistors/pain in the ass?

I believe I was missing one of the voltages on my power board when my bridge rectifier on the power brick was bad. That was a while ago though so I may be remembering wrong. Of course testing them can't hurt.

I double checked everything and have a big DOH!

The mj15016B at location Q11 and the 2n3055 were switched around!! What a damn bonehead! I resoldered them and kicked the game back on.

NOW I AM ONLY GETTING 0.61v-dc and no LED at all on my 5v... the other three are still going strong.

I will recheck my bridge rectifiers but installed two new ones. I did them one at a time, I'm sure I have that right at least! :p

What would fry if I had my 2n3055 and 15016 in each others places?

I've rechecked all my fuses and everything has continuity and not fried.

Any suggestions of what to test next? What should my voltages be on the connector at the filterboard that supplies the power to the p/s board on the 5v circuit?
