I've received several requests to post build information on the QB-3 I built and brought to CAX this year. I don't normally do "build" posts so sorry if the format isn't very polished. I'll kick it off posting several pics of the cab inside and out then follow up with detailed info about the build/parts including sources and part numbers for the items I have the info on. If anyone has any questions just post them and I'll try to answer. I've done tons of research on this game to try and recreate as accurate as possible the original prototype.

Front screen with bezel removed, you can see the space duel burn on the 6100 but once the tinted bezel is installed it becomes pretty hidden. The green felt along the edges protects the glass bezel when it's installed.

Tinted glass bezel, the tint helps hide the burn and improves the contrast ratio of the monitor. The artwork is printed on vinyl applied to the outside of the glass. The control panel artwork was done the same. The square plates were purchased from "send cut send" then wrapped in vinyl and attached to the panel.

Vinyl side art applied, you can see the 2 carriage bolts that mount the brackets for the 6100.

Custom power brick created for this build. The toroid transformer provides the AC voltage for the monitor while three separate Meanwell switching supplies provide the +5, +24 and -24 VDC for the Cinevetron's digital and analog circuitry.

Here's a close up of the part number of the monitor transformer. I made measurements with several different ones under operation to find one that didn't droop too much under load but also minimized the excess voltage to keep the regulator transistors as cool as possible. So far the CAB has survived multiple shows without any monitor issues.

Speaker and grill were scavenged from a scrapped "Eyes" cab along with a few of the brackets for the control panel and the marquee. The monitor brackets were custom made to position the monitor in the appropriate place. The overall cab was a scratch build from hardwood ply by a local craftsman. The harness was custom made as well.

Here's the Cinevectron mounted to the side of the cabinet. It's setup to boot to QB-3 and all other games are locked out.

Last pic, this is the control panel wiring. I found the ribbon cable breakout board on either Ebay or Amazon. I had to buy a few to find the right one. A couple of them I received were for the finer pitch ribbon cable (.025" instead of .050"). The ribbon cable I just crimped myself to the proper length.
