Before I do some damage can somebody tell me how to hook up the transformer? I just got the transformer, amp and a set of speakers that I'm wanting to use in my showcase. I have four pin molex on the transformer labeled with White-OV, Black-100V, Gray-120V and Green-E. My best guess is I use gray and the white for 120V input and the green is the ground. Does that sound right?

I just so happen to have my project big blue sitting directly behind me. Still awaiting a monitor / glass / bezel / marquee.

I'll track down my cord for the phone and upload some pictures in a few, to hopefully give you an idea on how that's hooked up. Sorry ahead of time but my camera isn't all that great.

added-

Just rechecked the molex. White seems to be power - Green is earth/ground - Black connects to nothing (no wire connected on other end)? - Grey is ground. Atleast on this machine it is. It plays blind so I know i'm getting sound out of it, and I love the Q-Sound setup.

Sorry I couldn't help before with the showcase cab pics.. I'll attempt the screw removal later this week hopefully. Anyways here's some pic's..

Got the whole amp setup also. 2 wires out of transformer to amp. 4 wire spot on amp goes to speakers and the above (edited part of my reply) is how the 4 wire's your talking about hook up in my cab.

Are all four wires going into the transformer hooked up to something? Are they coming from the power supply or just straight from the plug? I'm imagining only 3 are. Thanks.

120v come into the transformer via the green/white/black, Green = Earth Ground, White = Nuetral, Black = 120v

The Orange and Yellow go to the Amp , this is a step down transformer, i am not sure of the output voltage, but i recall it was around 14v AC RMS.

i think the specs for the actual audio amp ic's are 12v DC (there is a bridge rectifier and cap to convert the AC Voltage for the amp.

From the power supply comes the - 3 wires (white/black/green) plugs into the 4 wires (white/black/green/grey) which at that point the black wire on the 4 wire side isn't connected. The 4 wires go into the transformer.

So basically White to White, Green to Green and Black (3 wire side) to Grey (4 wire side). Is how mine is currently put together.

I wanna know how you can just skip the transformer altogether.

I have a NAOMI amp with no transformer and would like a gd pinout and just run my own +12 and ground to the 4 pins. to my understanding, I think the Q-Sound and NAOMI amps are like.. the same? maybe?

ok I saw the pics and they help a lot but how do you have the iso transformer hooked up? not the one attached to the q sound motherboard but the other one. My green, white and black molex connector is going from my ps to iso to monitor. Also what spec speakers should I use? watts etc...

I have the ISO hooked up to the 120V coming in. There could be 4 wires. Two for 120v and two for 100v IIRC. Obviously, use the 120v. I managed to get Q Sound speakers, so not exactly sure what speakers need to be.

The transformer does not have to be used on the Q-Sound amp. The transformer converts 100V or 120V (depending on which input you use on the tranformer) to 17V. This is the ideal voltage for the Q-Sound amp, but the amp will run off of 12V from a PSU. If running off 12V the amp picks up atmospheric noise such as a CPS2 fan or CPS3 disc drive, but it will still work.

yeah, but where do you feed it the 12V and ground at? I tried following traces and figuring it out on my own but that wasn't happening heh. and I wasn't going to just put the meter probes on random pins lol
