I have an Atari Arabian I'm restoring and have a quick question...
Q: I've tested & confirmed the speaker and ("external") volume pot (the one mounted on the utility panel behind the coin door) are working (using another PCB). The Arabian PCB however doesn't seem to put out enough sound to make it to the speaker (even if I wire it direct to the speaker and bypass the external volume pot).
If I hook the board's audio out up to a pair of amplified PC speakers, I get sound (and the onboard volume pot works), however the sound is "tinny" (no bass) - even when I have the pc amp out put to the original speaker.
Could it be the MB3713 (IC42: "Audio Power Amplifier" according to the "owners manual/troubleshooting guide")? Or something else (like the "AY-3-8910")?
