I'm having an issue with the sound on my Q*Bert .
All of the sounds are normal except the music (level intro music).
It sounds similar to over pre amplification (destorted) I have adjusted all related volume and gain pots and the destortion is present at all volumes.
I haven't really checked into this in depth other than checking the schematics and I happened to have a spare LM741 which I swapped @U22 and the problem persists. I have verified all voltages to be correct. I am suspecting the MC1408 @U20 (D/A converter). I just thought I'd check to see if anyone has ever experienced this same issue.

wow, not sure...Gotta believe its a fried sound chip on the sound board...There are lots of posts here about the qbert sound board issues.

Riptor is the resident expert on those boards but he's been pretty quiet lately...

Negative, I do power supplys. Takeman is the guy you need to contact about the sound board. I would try replacing the LS377 on the main board first as it will cause alot of sound problems and is not uncommon to find it bad.
