What the hell, did this guy just walk past the game and then write the review?

Did he even proof read his own review? Did anyone?

How many errors do you see?

:D

Fluorescent spelled wrong to start.

When you google his name TODAY, the pic that comes up in the google result is the SAME ONE as that article. Lmao.

I wonder what he actually does today.

"Avoid the gang of five"? You don't want to avoid Slick and Sam. A few paragraphs later he acknowledges as much ("Slick and Sam do not pose a threat"). Blanchet was one of the few syndicated reviewers who actually did play the games he reviewed. I interviewed him in 2013:

You want to read some bad reviews? Look no further than Electronic Games.

Pinky, Speedy, Winky and Clyde.

Pinky IS Speedy, and Winky is the lead character in Venture, not a Pac-Man Ghost.
At least Clyde is error-free.

There's at least one more in there that you guys missed...

"Avoid anything that is not green. This includes Coily, Ugg, Wrongway and the purple and green eggs."

So...the green eggs are not green? Got it!

Reminds me of the old Dr. Seuss story, Not Green Eggs and Ham.

Michael Blanchet said:
Ugg and Wrongway are unique in that they move from cube to cube sideways.
Nope. Their unique ability is that they're jumping on the sides of the cubes. They're still jumping up and down just like all the other characters, just on the sides instead of the tops.

Michael Blanchet said:
If Q*Bert catches it (the green ball), the board and all its occupants will freeze momentarily...
The board doesn't freeze. It doesn't need to freeze because it's already stationary.

Maybe where he wrote "purple and green eggs..." he meant to write "red" instead of "green."

This year, the flourescent (sic) foursome may take back (sic) seat to a bunch of armless cube hoppers named Slick, Sam, Coily, Ugg and Wrongway...

Wrongway clearly has arms.

The Pac-Man ghosts are not fluorescent.

Michael Blanchet said:
The green objects, Sam and Slick in particular, do not pose a threat to Q*Bert.
While Sam and Slick might not be directly lethal to Q*Bert, they do pose a threat in the form of changing the cube colors. Changed cubes need to be addressed by Q*Bert to complete the level, keeping him exposed to directly lethal enemies for a longer time.
