Q*Bert:Maybe selling/trade in for a wroking game or partial credit towards new one.

About two weeks ago we came back to Rusty Quaters and Q*Bert had a blank screen. I opened it up and saw that the Power Assemby wasn't working (No working red light on D11)

We put in a new power assembly ( http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=222500 ) but only get an frozen image on the screen. I'm assuming when the PA board went out, it shorted the PCB. So now I need a new one asap... Then cross my fingers and hope that i can get Q*Bert to full working order.

I need a working Q*Bert board but I would like to buy one under $250 (hoping for $200 or under)... anyone?

Every day that it's off is another day that I'm not making money from it. If I don't find one soon (within 2 weeks), I might have to put it up for sale (to use for trade for another working arcade game or partial trade for a working Q*Bert)

Customers LOVE Q*BERT at Rusty Quarters but for right now it's just a big expensive paperwieght that isn't making me any money. So I'm looking for either a working board or offers for trade (full or partial) for a working arcade game or for another Q*Bert in working order.

check out http://rqarcade.com/We_want_your_games.html for a list of games that we're looking for.

Thanks,

You might not actually need a board at all. I went through this exact problem myself, down to using an arcadeshop power supply, only to get a frozen screen of what looked like rom garbage.

Chances are you're not getting the 12v to the boardset but you are getting 5v which is why you see something on screen.

Check the 2 fuses on the power block, and if they're not blown, clean up the fuses and fuse holders a bit so they make good contact. If that doesn't do it, you might have a blown Bridge Rectifier in the power brick.

If you know anyone with a qbert, try your board in their cabinet, if it works, you know you have a cabinet problem, not a board problem.

I had the same situation happen to me, paid for a board repair, and got the same result when the board came back! Here's a post with more info for ya:
