Okay, Here's the thing. I'm going to pick up a nekkid Q*bert on Friday. Just grabbed
up the coin doors from the sale section on here.

My girlfriend LOVES Q*Bert. She's supported the arcade addiction and my car addiction.
She is the best girl I could ever ask for, We have been together for over 4 years.
What got her started on the little guy was I downloaded it on her phone for her
and she fell in love.. then after she played it at a fellow KLOVers house it was all over.

Now she HAS to have one. So now that I'm getting one i thought i would start a restoration thread.

so this is post one, I'll start with the pics once the cab is in my possession Friday!

Any help sourcing parts would be great!

I want to have it done by Christmas!

This Is Us! ha ha

Naked as in empty? You need everything?

Side art is $65 at arcade shop

bezel is $50 on quarterarcade

Guy on ebay has nos cpo and lower header for $97 offer $50 he'll take it.

Marquee is $60 at phoenixarcade

So for about $225 + shipping you can have it looking new.

Pcb runs around $125 - $150 and pops on here every now and then.

Powerboard runs around $65 you can find it on klov

Power supply switching kit $55 at arcadeshop

Control panel and joysticks are hard to come by.

Manual $25 on ebay

Monitor is a wg 19k4951 / wg 19k4956 not sure what those cost.

So for around $500+ you should have one hell of a Christmas present!!

I did see a few things on ebay, I do think most of the wiring harness and power supply are in it so that saves me a few dollars. I'm excited to do this. I havent seen many Q*Berts for sale.

a fellow KLOV'er just offered me a 30 dollar marqee. im getting off to a great start.

the cpo is the thing im most worried about finding. my funds are tight right now but i should
have plenty of money coming in tomorrow. so *fingers crossed* then ill pick up the one on ebay.

as far as the controll panel, i can make that.

could i just mount a 4 way joystick on a tilt for qbert?

sure is! hes only a few mins away from the shop im doing some work out of right now. so im grabing it tomorrow.

Congrats on the project. Q*Bert is a great game and well worth the time and effort to restoring. I also appreciate your comments on my Q*Bert resto thread. :) I don't think I have any extra parts offhand, but I should have some of my yellow paint leftover from the sides. If would probably be enough to paint your machine, but if nothing, it'd be a good start. If you're interested you can have it for the cost of shipping. I need to make sure my cousin didn't throw it away (painted the cab at his place with his spray gun setup) and I want to bottle just a little of it for touch up purposes, but there should still be plenty left.

Edit: BTW I love the Tom Servo avatar! MST3K rocks!

thank you! Ive been watching Mst3k for a long long time. right before the arcade bug bit me i was gonna buy a servo bot off eBay... but my money is being spent elsewhere now.

if they wont give you any crap for shipping paint id be happy to have it. I paint cars so
i also have the setup to spray.
I hope that my resto is near as nice as yours. although most of the parts I'm using
are aged originals, and I'm happy with that.

Q bert is one game thats always seems to be one that everyone wants. I had a few of them and seem to sell them before they are even finished. I haven't seen any for awhile, but I'm sure I'll run across another one sooner or later. Here are the pics of some of the parts I told you I have and I also have to empty cabs one of which I plan on putting together a Qberts Qube, but the other one is there if you need hardware or other parts

Arcadeshop had the cpo's and lower decal for about 45$ i think, they just aren't listed on his site, you have to call. it was the easiest to find. Takeman and Riptor prolly have just about every component you will need. out of everything needed the control panel with joystick and wire harness were the hardest to find for me.

I also have an original 4900 monitor that came out a Qbert cab as well with some Q bert burn of course.

Less than 24 hours in.. thats amazing guys.

im excited beyond words. i love this place!!

Sorry Trioxin I totally forgot to get back to you about the paint. I went over to my cousin's place and picked it up earlier this week. If you are still interested in it just LMK and it's yours. Like I said I'd only ask for you to cover shipping and I can get it boxed this weekend (Sunday most likely). Good luck with the restore! Sounds like you've got a lot of parts already.

Sorry Guru, my net was on and off lately.
Pm me on the shipping cost.. thanks.

I'll post some updates as soon as i find my camera.
